About

John and I have been talking a lot, recently, about this huge change for Wordie. We agreed that it’s OK to have a free space for word lovers, but it’s much cooler to make money out of it. And after all, since Wordie is like Flickr, but without the photos, why shouldn’t we have our 20-buck-per-year Pro package?
It’s finally time for Wordie PRO!

  • Prolagus I would love to keep it active. The point is, it refers to a website that does not exist anymore... I could change its name, but some of the entries would sound incomprehensible since they are actual Wordnik options. Dec 1, 2009

    I want the feature that controls ALL the comments that appear on the front page. That way, if there's ever a word or comment I dislike for any reason, it will never appear there--or anywhere else. Mwahahaha... Oct 1, 2008

  • bilby I hope Wordie PRO is serious about its corporate social responsibility to protect the natural wordienvironment. Thus I fully expect that no less than 5% of revenue will be set aside for bullshit reduction worldwide, with a view to being fully crap-neutral by 2025. Only sustainably-harvested words from plantation dictionaries will be allowed to be added. Oct 1, 2008

  • palooka Good idea! I often register free software or sign up for a Pro account just to support the author. I may not even need the extra features. If something provides enjoyment, I enjoy making a donation to keep the writer of the software/website happy.

    How about the ability to include definitions on our pages - that would be a Pro enhancement. Oct 1, 2008

  • dontcry Um, let's say someone had been carrying really heavy volumes of books (and maybe DVD's and lawn tools and stuff like that)back and forth from their library (or other places far away from their computer) to their computer to make a listing of those....things.
