If we have anonymous then I suspect at some stage in the past anonym was in general use. And the concept is useful: anonym, a thing without a name, a thing that is unable to be identified or defined.
Post-script: now that I've listed anonym, WordNET has put up an intriguing definition for it.

Tomsteele, thanks for 'euonym'. Sarra, Synonym being captialized is an artifact of when I first launched the site, before I'd standardized on lowercase. I guess I find it faintly amusing that it's the only capitalized word (I'm easily amused), so I haven't corrected it. It's amazing how many people have noticed it -- there have been numerous comments and emails.

Now, tell us, why is "Synonym" the only capitalised Word I've seen on the whole site? It's most jarring!
