pterodactyl Words that end in "-ish" but aren't adjectives are funny because they sound like they should be adjectives. (For example: can you describe a mediocre surfer as "radish"?)
The humor doesn't work for monosyllabic words, like fish, because they don't sound like adjectives. So no fish. No squish, either. Mar 13, 2008
