"Ghibli" (in japanese pronounced "ji-bu-ri") is a japanese animation studio. The word "ghibli" apprently derives from an italian word meaning "hot wind blowing through the Sahara Desert". I've heard that the founders of Studio Ghibli were thinking of a "wind of change" when naming their company. Plus the word is pretty cute. |
