Working on a book, two or three of my characters are scholars who enjoy deep technical discussions while everyone else around them is left scratching their heads. I love finding and using big words to scare off the average reader and make their eyes glaze over. Or possibly make them reach for their dictionaries, if I'm lucky. Also, I just happen to really like words, especially obsolete and/or archaic terms. 16th century or earlier vocabulary words just make me go all warm and fuzzy. |
