  • Block, Herbert Lawrence Known as Her·block (hûrˈblŏk) 1909-2001. American editorial cartoonist whose witty works have appeared in the Washington Post and more than 200 other papers nationwide. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 1942 and in 1954.
