When I was a kid some of the older guys (WW II vets) hunted with Springfields, Krags, Enfields, and Mausers most of which were in as issued configuration.
does anyone else think military looking rifles shouldnt be used for hunting? 2009

I've seen old footage of WW2 Marines training with the 1903 Springfield (remember, in WW2 all Pacific Forces regardless of branch of service began WW2 with Springfields, + all Marines regardless of location began WW2 with Springfields) for close quarters combat where the rifleman would fire the rifle from the hip.

Sounds like the people that have problems with a "black" rifle or "assault" rifle should take a look at American history and see how many deer, elk and antelope were killed in this country after WWI and WWII with M1s, '03 Springfields, M1 Carbines, and Winchester 98s.
