  • noun A genus of polypodiaceous ferns, with simple linear-lanceolate to oblong-elliptical fronds and sori borne in continuous lines (either superficial or in shallow grooves, whence the name) following the reticulate venation. There are about 25 species, widely distributed throughout the humid tropics of both hemispheres.
