  • Well, those are generally applied to females, and have additional connotations besides just the desire for attention. "Attention hog" and some other variants are non-gender specific and pretty clearly focused. IMHO. :)

  • I'm not so sure... I've referred to males as attention whores before.

    Drama Queen can be non-gender specific, too. I know several (straight) men who are Drama Queens.

  • I think Drama Queen is an adorable term that is the closest synonym to "attention whore" I can think of. I know several of these in my social circle and they get rather draining in more than small doses...
