- n. A serpentinous mineral occurring embedded in serpentine at Baste in the Harz and elsewhere, and probably derived from the alteration of a variety of enstatite (bronzite). It often shows a metallic-pearly luster, or schiller, in the cleavage-face, and is hence called
schiller-spar .
