  • noun The dog-headed boa, or Xiphosoma caninum, a South American snake, family Boidæ, notable for the beautiful green color of its skin. It is distinguished by having smooth scales, the marginal scales of the mouth pitted, and regular shields on the snout. Also called araramboya.
