We had meat from the braii which reminded me for home and sat Bedouin style and watched a whirling dervish and a belly dancer, each not quite authentic but nice in their own way.
So we had strange objects such as picnic tables that catapulted people on one side into the air like a seesaw when someone sat opposite them, and a braii stand people always thought was a far too elegant dog house.
I'm writing this in between eating our braii and it is 11pm!!!
First stop is a braii place, which is very lively.
They are great places for the kids to go crazy in the playground while we eat so much food ... better keep some space for the braii later!
Tonight we will stay up, make a braii, shoot off fireworks, and listen to Radio Botswana waiting for the DJ’s to tell us that 2009 has arrived, the 2009 filled of hope and promise and dreams fulfilled.
'cos if not, then maybe cigarette manufactures should change the tobacco to make it more like braii smoke.
