1. n. A colorless, nearly tasteless crystalline compound, (CH₂)₆NH.C₂H₅Br, obtained by the action of ethyl bromide on hexamethylene-tetramine. It is used as a substitute for alkaline bromides. Also known as bromethyl-formin.
