  • noun A thick colorless liquid obtained by dissolving 1 part of guncotton (pyroxylin) in a saturated alcoholic solution of 20 parts of camphor. It dries rapidly, leaving a thin elastic film when applied to the skin, and is used as a vehicle for tannic acid, iodoform, etc.
