In Sundevall's system of classification, the first and highest group or cohort of birds, embracing eight superfamily groups or phalanges, and approximately equivalent to the turdoid Passeres or dentirostral Oscines of authors in general: one of the six cohorts of this author's Oscines laminiplantares.
