It took me forever to realize that the word "cocolo" often used in signage and merchandise is actually "kokoro" heart. benher
The similar term cocolo-most popularly used as an insult against Haitians by Dominicans, and by Puerto-Ricans against Dominican immigrants who look Haitian-is another word gradually being assigned a new meaning here among Latinos.
Between that record and Mtv, I went from a salsa addicted 5 year old cocolo, to a “don’t speak to me in Spanish anymore” rockero.
