  • noun In architecture, a bond in which a course composed of stretchers, but with a half-stretcher or a header at one or both ends, is covered by a course in which headers and stretchers alternate, and this by a course of stretchers, of which each joint comes over the middle of a stretcher in the first-named course. See bond, 12.
