1. n. A colorless, volatile, pungent liquid. CHICCH₂CH₂CICH, prepared by the action of potassium hydroxid on diallyltetrabromide. It readily polymerizes and is a homologue of acetylene, which it resembles in general properties. It melts at — 6° C., boils at 86-87° C., and is also called 1, 5-hexadiene.
