- In petrography, dominantly femic. Used to describe divisions of igneous rocks, iu the quantitative system (see
rock ), characterized by a dominance of ferromagnesian normative minerals over salic minerals, that is, normative quartz, feldspars, feldspathoids (lenads), and corundum, within the limits.
