- In petrography, dominantly salic. Used in the quantitative classification (see
rock ), to describe that division of igneous rocks in which the salic minerals (normative quartz, feldspars, feldspathoids) are dominant over the femic (normative ferromagnesian) minerals within the limits. This is class II, dosalane.
