  • A family of centipeds, of the order Chilopoda and class Myriapoda, containing terrestrial forms (whence the name) which have numerous (30 to 200) similar flattened segments, with short legs, 14-jointed antennæ, single-jointed tarsi, and no eyes. There are several genera besides Geophilus.
