  • A tribe of plants of the natural order Umbelliferæ, in which the fruit is laterally much compressed or with the commissures often narrowly constricted, the carpels acute or obtuse on the back. Also written Hydrocotylidæ (Lindley), Hydrocotylineæ (Sprengel), and Hydrocotyleneæ (Koch).
