The few species that are mainly restricted to this ecoregion include the endemic black uakari monkeys (Cacajao melanocephalus) and bearded sakis (Chiropotes satanas), opossums (Marmosops impavidus), bats (Micronycteris pusilla, Phyllostomus latifolius, Platyrrhinus aurarius), and several rodents (Neusticomys venezuelae, Rhipidomys macconnelli, Cavia guianae, and Proechimys simonsi).
