1. n. A colorless compound, C₆H(CH: CHCH₃)O₂:CH₂(OCH₃)₂, prepared by the action of alcoholic potassium hydroxid on apiol. It crystallizes in large leaves or quadratic plates, melts at 55–56° C., and boils at 303–304° C.
