But there is a market for both all-natural doughnuts and vegan kringle, and Larsen Bakery has been feeding it.
Its customers were asking for non-dairy, non-egg kringle, said Don Hutchinson, Larsen co-owner and plant manager.
"A lot of it was allergies," he said - people who couldn't tolerate dairy or eggs - but still craved kringle.
