Drugs (Mus 10 mM, pH 4, Sigma; NaCl 0,9\%; Phaseolus vulgaris leucoagglutinin, PHA-L, 1\%, Vector Laboratories or Fluorogold, Fg, 4\%) were applied iontophoretically during the light-on sleep period (between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.) with a multi-barrel micropipette (20 µm tip diameter) lowered into the vlPAG / dDpMe region.
