  • A family of terricolous Oligochæta, consisting of large or small earthworms with 8 paired setæ in each segment, the inconspicuous clitellum occupying segments 10–13, and one or two pairs of male pores. It contains the genera Moniligaster and Desmogaster, found in India, Ceylon, Sumatra, Borneo, Burma, and the Bahamas. M. grandis attains a length of two feet.
