1. n. An apparatus for dissolving out residual oil from vegetable marc, or pressed cake, by means of carbon disulphid, petroleum ether, or some other volatile solvent, which is distilled off, condensed, and used over again.
2. n. An oil-filter; a device for separating oil from water or other substances.
3. n. A centrifugal wringer used to extract the oil used in cutting metals from the metal chips.
