  • noun A white, crystalline, polymeric anthracene, (C14H10)2, which crystallizes from a saturated solution of anthracene in xylene when exposed to sunlight. Other solvents, as benzene or alcohol, can be used. It melts at 244° C., and is much more stable than anthracene.
