  • This is a term that I heard in the USAF. It meant that you were required to be ready to engage in a certain activity, but to also realize that the timing, process, or the activity itself may (likely) change at any moment. For example, an exercise would be scheduled to kick off at 0500, but there was a very good chance that the time of commencement would change or that the exercise itself would change. However, you'd better be ready to go at 0500 no matter what.
