1. n. An embiotocoid fish of the Pacific coast of North America, Micrometrus aggregatus: a name also extended to others of the same waters and genus. That above named is about six inches long; the adult males in spring are almost entirely black; the usual coloration is silvery with dusky back and longitudinal dark stripes interrupted by three vertical yellow bars.
