- n. A small tractate giving a compend of a part of a science. The Summulæ Logicales of Petrus Hispanus. constituted the common medieval text-book of logic. It was writteu about the middle of the thirteenth century by the doctor who afterward became Pope John XXI. It is noticeable for the number of mnemonic verses it contains, and for its original development of the Parva Logicalia.
