1. n. A trade-name of diethvlsulphone-diethylmethane, (C₂H₅SO₂)₂C(C₂H₅)₂, prepared, in a similar manner to sulphonal, from diethylketone and ethylmercaptan. It crystallizes in lustrous plates or leaves, melts at 85° C., and is a more powerful hypnotic than sulphonal.
