  • noun A colorless compound, C6H5C:CC6H5, prepared by the action of alcoholic potassium hydroxid on stilbene chlorid or bromide. It crystallizes in large plates or rods, melts at 60° C, and may be distilled. Also called diphenyl-acetylene.
