- adj. Pertaining to or resembling Malebolge, the eighth circle in Dante's description of Hell.
It almost rivals the Malebogian horrors of the 'Inferno,' only Dante wrote from his imagination, whereas the author of 'Lourdes' paints only the naked, hideous, and sickening truth.
We are told, in addition, much of Devil's Island and of other Malebolgian circles of this inferno on earth.
'Malebolge' translates from Italian as 'bad valley.'
