- An island of the US Virgin Islands in the West Indies east of Puerto Rico. It became a Danish colony in the 1700s and passed to various European powers before Denmark sold it to the United States in 1917.
- A city of southern New Brunswick, Canada, on the Bay of Fundy. Founded as a French trading post in the 1630s, it was captured by the British in 1758 and was a refuge for Loyalists after the American Revolution. It is located at the mouth of the Saint John River, which rises in northern Maine and flows about 675 km (420 mi) northeast then southeast.
