Although Wiater believes that Memorial Day has lost some of its true meaning to picnics and sales, he feels that the presence of patriotism is strong in America and he is grateful to groups such as the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion and the Stephen Sikora Post, all of which display a tremendous amount of pride and remain actively involved in the community.
