  • "According to the Mayo Clinic approximately one in 100 people will experience a sex headache at some point during his or her lifetime. Those prone to migraines are more likely to experience the stabbing pain and unfortunately for the testosterone readers, it seems that men are at least three times more likely than women to have the affliction.

The official name is benign coital headaches. The headaches tend to occur before or during orgasm, and may persist for a period of minutes, or hang on for hours after sex. These orgasmic headaches are very painful and may obviously limit sexual enjoyment. Most medical practitioners report that the acute pain is of little threat to most and only in rare occasions could the pain be a sign of bleeding in the brain, stroke, tumor, or aneurysm. The headache which occurs abruptly at orgasm may be a response to increased blood pressure that causes the cerebral blood vessels to dilate."
