  • But it's the way it's written. It's obvious (to me) that the molecule theory as stated is, if not entirely metaphorical, a front for a more lubricious story. It's the intimate detail with which the bikes are described, every crossbar and spoke, the way they sidle furtively along walls, what they get up to with their riders in the remote country lanes.
