Spooky came across the tiny carcass of what I think must have been a Northern Short-tailed Shrew (Blarina brevicauda), being scavenged by a number of colourful beetles.

There is a great variety of bats; rodents include the Venezuelan endemic Roraima rat Podoxymys roraimae, short-tailed cane mouse Zygodontes brevicauda, three climbing rats in the genus Rhipidomys, and two guinea pigs Cavia species.

Several characteristic species include leptodactylid Neobatrachus wilsmorei, hylid Cyclorani maini, gecko Diplodactylus squarrosus, skinks Egernia depressa, Lerista muelleri and Morethia butleri, and the monitors Varanus brevicauda, V. caudolineatus, V. eremius and V. giganteus.

Besides this species, the mammals more commonly found in the open savannas are the savanna rabbit (Sylvilagus floridanus), and several species of rodents like Sigmodon alstoni, S. hispidus, Zygondotomys brevicauda, and Orizomys bicolor.
