  • In petrography, dominantly polic. Used in the quantitative classification (see rock), to describe divisions of igneous rocks in which polic minerals (normative pyroxene, olivin, aker-manite) are dominant over mitic minerals (magnetite, ilmenite, titanite) within the limits .
