• In Latreille's system of classification, a tribe of hymenopterous insects of the section Pupivora, corresponding to the Diplolepariæ, and to the modern family Cynipidæ; the gall-flies.
• In Meigen's system (1818), a group of dipterous insects of his family Tipulariæ, containing the genus Cecidomyia and other genera, and corresponding pretty accurately to the modern family Cecidomyidæ; the gall-gnats or gall-midges.
