  • A family of oceanic hydroids, tubular medusans, or Siphonophora, of the order Calycophora, taking name from the genus Hippopodius, and related to Diphyidæ, but having more than two horseshoe-shaped swimming-bells, no polyp-stem, and no float. Also written Hippopodidæ.
