  • noun A genus of gigantic dinosaurs, established upon remains discovered by Mantell in the Wealden formation of Tilgate Forest in England, and characterized by the development of the dermal scutes into prodigious spines along the middle line of the back. One of these great lizards was probably about 25 feet long.
