  • Winston Churchill once defined Russia as 'a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.' (A classmate in college once told me he thought of me that way!) Is this a good definition of inscrutable? The irony of this is that my maternal grandfather was a - somewhat distant (read mysterious)- cousin of Jenny Jerome, Winston's American mother. Gophigure! I remember visiting Blenheim and the room where Winston was born, during a party, of course! Winston had a bent on being where the action is. He only suffered during dull times. Hence bricklaying was his hobby? Gophigure!
