The Old Kings Arms pub in Leeds where in 1753 magistrates sat to hear charges against three men arrested while in a mob rebelling against toll charges at a toll gate on the Harrogate turnpike at Harewood Bridge. The Riot Act was read. Soldiers fired on the mob and at least eight rioters died.
