• noun A thin and translucent fabric made of the fiber of the long leaves of the pineapple-plant, Ananas sativa, and other species of the genus. It is highly esteemed by Orientals as a material for fine robes, scarfs, ete. Also pineapple-cloth, pine-cloth.
