  • noun A light yellowish-brown, amorphous, bitter substance, C22H36O11, found in the needles of the pine, Pinus sylvestris, and in the green parts of the white cedar, Thuja occidentalis. When hydrolyzed with dilute sulphuric acid it yields sugar and ericinol.
