  • noun A genus of hymenomycetous fungi of the family Clavariaceæ, having simple, clavate, stipitate fruiting-bodies and basidia bearing two spores. About 50 species have been described, most of which are saprophytic. P. micans occurs on dead herbaceous stoms and leaves in Europe and North America.
