• The first-fruits of any production of the earth; specifically (ecclesiastical), the first-fruits of an ecclesiastical benefice, payable to the Pope, the church, or other ecclesiastical authority: same as annats. See annat, 1.
• In obstetrics, the waters discharged before the extrusion of the fetus.
